Team Training & Resources

A training on what it looks like to be “here for” the PRESCHOOL phase.

A training on what it looks like to be “here for” the ELEMENTARY phase.

  • It’s Just a Phase

    Learn to Listen

    • A training on leading better conversations so the next generation knows we are here for them

    Meet the Parents

    • This winter we will have many opportunities for families to gather! Nobody has more influence in the life of a kid than their parent or caregiver. So, if we want to be here for the faith and future of the next generation, we need to be here for the people who influence them the most.

    Create a Safe Place

    • In order to give kids and teenagers hope, we as leaders must go deeper relationally with those we serve! This training gives us the answers to the five questions every kid and teenager needs an adult to know.

    Engage Everyday Faith

    • We want the next generation to experience an everyday faith—a faith that goes with them long after Sunday programming and into whatever tomorrow looks like for them. But how does that happen? And what does it look like at different ages? In this training we’ll discover how faith skills and habits can form a foundation for an everyday faith. And, we’ll talk about practical ways to build those habits at every life stage.

    Do for A Few

    • The way we show up today will demonstrate for the next generation whether they can trust us to be there for them tomorrow. Whether you lead toddlers or teenagers, the most important thing you’ll do this year is show up. . . and keep showing up.

  • Our Team Handbook offers a comprehensive overview of who we are, what we do, and how we operate as a team. Inside, you'll find essential information that will guide you in your role, including our mission, values, and expectations. This handbook also outlines the safety and care standards we uphold to ensure a safe and nurturing environment for the children and families we serve. It’s your go-to resource for everything you need to know as a valued member of our team.

  • At New City we use a curriculum provided by Orange/Amazing Life and it’s called 252 Kids. A key verse for our kids and family ministry is Luke 2:52 “And Jesus increased in wisdom and in stature and in favor with God and man.”

Our curriculum is a tool, or a guide, that we use to help us effectively care for and disciple kids and engage families. The material emphasizes both theological depth, and child development.

Orange and 252 Kids equips our leaders to engage and partner with families. We recognize a parent or caregivers influence in a child’s life, and want to partner with families so that each child can experience Jesus in a meaningful way.

Our Elementary curriculum is called 252 Kids. Watch these videos and click the links to learn more.

  • We use the Orange strategy beginning with our youngest kiddos. Orange equips our leaders and parents to collaborate, helping each child experience Jesus in a meaningful way at their age.

Our Preschool curriculum is called First Look. This curriculum gives preschoolers their first impression of their God who made them and loves them.

While our nursery is focused on caring for our youngest children, in preschool we begin to use a curriculum that is theologically sound and age appropriate. Watch these videos and links to learn more about First Look.

  • Middle and high schoolers play a vital role in our church, bringing enthusiasm and fresh perspectives. They are welcome to engage in various ministries, helping with events and worship, which develops their skills and fosters belonging. Service shapes their character, teaching compassion, teamwork, and leadership. At New City Church, we encourage youth to step into roles where they can shine. If you’re a student, explore ways to serve and join us. If you are an adult, see how students will be serving alongside us and how you can impact a young leader!
