When we hold our little ones for the first time, no one ever hopes to be an ineffective parent. We look at that precious child and imagine years full of joy, growth, and learning. But becoming a strong parent doesn’t just spontaneously happen. If we want to be the parents God desires us to be, we need to continually learn new tools and become students of Godly parents who have come before us.
New City’s leadership recognizes the need to cultivate healthier, happier families and has invited Dr. Bob Barnes to lead a parenting conference on Friday, Dec. 7 from 6:30-8:00 PM and Saturday, Dec. 8 from 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM.
Dr. Barnes is the president of Sheridan House, a residential treatment program for teenage boys and girls, a marriage and counseling center, and a social services center. He holds a doctorate in counseling and is also the host of a weekly radio program, “Parenting on Purpose.” With helpful information for parents of toddlers, teens, and all ages in between, this conference will address topics such as raising a responsible child, the power of no, and discipline. Cost is $15 per person. Childcare is free for those who pre-register. Make an investment in your family!
